After polishing his skills in Tokyo, TAKUJI headed on his own to America. He worked at a renowned salon in West Hollywood and the Paul Mitchell-affiliated Reve Salon at The Kahala Hotel & Resort in Oahu Hawaii before going freelance "I spend a lot of time consulting before cutting and styling.

As I evaluate scalp condition and hair quality I ask a lot of questions: Do you shampoo in the morning? At night? What kind of styling agents do you use? It doesn't end at the salon. My service extends to understanding what kind of home care the client dose.

It's important to have a sense of the customer's lifestyle. And to be honest, It's fun. It's like being a doctor. 

In addition to his work at the salon. he's also in great demand for red carpet event, fashion catalogs, and magazine photo shoots. His list of clients reads like Japanese celebrities as well as American actresses, models and producers.
